BIOGRAPHY

Harlow MacFarlane is an artist and composer based in Vancouver, British Columbia. 

Drawing from a diverse palette of analog and digital hardware, found objects and field recordings, MacFarlane creates aural tapestries that transcend the boundaries of conventional electronic and acoustic music. 

Working as a solo artist and as a collaborator, MacFarlane has been performing and producing music for over two decades, releasing numerous albums and recordings for North American and European labels.

Recently shifting his focus to the screen, MacFarlane works to create memorable themes for film, deeply exploring the characters and their surroundings through the visceral side of sound. While utilizing traditional classical instruments, it is the specialized use of vintage electronics and analog synthesis that makes his music stand apart.
